Angle Between Lines
The angle between two lines from their general equations, their relative position and intersection, with a figure.
The lines are given by A₁x + B₁y + C₁ = 0 and A₂x + B₂y + C₂ = 0.
This calculator finds the angle between two lines from their general equations, determines their relative position and draws them.
cos φ = |A₁A₂ + B₁B₂|/√(A₁² + B₁²) · √(A₂² + B₂²)
Example. For x − y + 2 = 0 and x + y − 4 = 0: A₁A₂ + B₁B₂ = 1 − 1 = 0, so they are perpendicular and meet at (1, 3).
