Finds the century from a year and the years of a century, and writes the century in Roman numerals. The year 1812 is in the 19th century.
This converter finds the century from a year, writes it in Roman numerals and shows the years of a century. It also works for BC dates.
How to find the century
century = whole part of (year − 1) : 100, plus 1
The first century covers the years 1 to 100, so a year ending in 00 still belongs to the century named by its first digits: 1900 is in the 19th century.
Example. The year 1812: 1811 : 100 = 18 (remainder 11), 18 + 1 = 19 — the 19th century.
