In the RGB model a color is made of red, green and blue — 8 bits (0–255) each, 24 bits in total (True Color). HEX is the same numbers in hexadecimal.

The color converter converts colors between HEX, RGB and HSL and shows the binary color code and a swatch.

RGB — a mix of red, green and blue; each component from 0 to 255 (8 bits), 24 bits in total — 16.7 million colors.
HEX — the same three numbers in hexadecimal: #RRGGBB. The short form #FA0 means #FFAA00.
HSL — hue (angle on the color wheel, 0–360°), saturation and lightness (0–100 %).

HEX → RGB converts each pair of digits from hexadecimal to decimal: 2F₁₆ = 2 · 16 + 15 = 47.

Example. #FFA500 = rgb(255, 165, 0) = hsl(38.8°, 100 %, 50 %) — orange.
