Electrical Units
Electrical units converter: current, voltage, resistance and capacitance. Convert mA, kV, kΩ and µF with a solution.
⇄
You can only convert units of one quantity: amperes to amperes, volts to volts.
The electrical units converter converts units of current, voltage, resistance and capacitance. In physics problems, values are usually converted to the SI base units first: amperes, volts, ohms and farads.
Units
| Unit | Value |
|---|---|
| microampere (µA) | 10⁻⁶ A |
| milliampere (mA) | 0.001 A |
| ampere (A) | 1 A |
| kiloampere (kA) | 1000 A |
| microvolt (µV) | 10⁻⁶ V |
| millivolt (mV) | 0.001 V |
| volt (V) | 1 V |
| kilovolt (kV) | 1000 V |
| megavolt (MV) | 10⁶ V |
| milliohm (mΩ) | 0.001 Ω |
| ohm (Ω) | 1 Ω |
| kilohm (kΩ) | 1000 Ω |
| megohm (MΩ) | 10⁶ Ω |
| picofarad (pF) | 10⁻¹² F |
| nanofarad (nF) | 10⁻⁹ F |
| microfarad (µF) | 10⁻⁶ F |
| millifarad (mF) | 0.001 F |
| farad (F) | 1 F |
Example. 470 µF = 470 · 10⁻⁶ F = 0.00047 F.
Conductance and charge
1 S = 1 / Ω. 1 C = 1 A·s, 1 A·h = 3600 C, the elementary charge is e = 1.602176634 · 10⁻¹⁹ C.
