Solution Concentrations
Concentration converter: mass fraction, molarity and g/L, taking solution density into account. Step-by-step solution.
The solution concentration converter converts mass fraction, molarity and mass concentration (g/L). It needs the chemical formula and the density of the solution.
Formula
γ = 10 · ρ · ω = c · M
Here γ is the mass concentration in g/L, ρ is the solution density in g/mL, ω is the mass fraction in percent, c is the molarity in mol/L and M is the molar mass in g/mol.
Example. NaCl solution, ω = 10 %, ρ = 1.07 g/mL: γ = 10 · 1.07 · 10 = 107 g/L, c = 107 : 58.5 ≈ 1.83 mol/L.
