Roof
Gable roof area, rafter length and ridge height from building size, slope and overhangs.
The area of a gable roof comes from the slope length.
slope length = (width / 2 + overhang) / cos α
S = 2 · slope length · (length + 2 · overhang)
This assumes a simple symmetric roof. A rafter design must account for snow and wind loads.
