Electrical Resistivity Table
Electrical resistivity of conductors at 20 °C in Ω·mm²/m.
| Substance | ρ, Ω·mm²/m |
|---|---|
| Silver | 0.016 |
| Copper | 0.017 |
| Gold | 0.024 |
| Aluminium | 0.028 |
| Tungsten | 0.055 |
| Iron | 0.10 |
| Lead | 0.21 |
| Nickelin | 0.40 |
| Manganin | 0.43 |
| Constantan | 0.50 |
| Mercury | 0.96 |
| Nichrome | 1.1 |
The resistance of a conductor is R = ρ·l / S, where l is the length in metres and S is the cross-section in mm². The lower the resistivity, the better the material conducts.
