Screen Size
Converts a screen diagonal between inches and centimeters and finds the width and height from the aspect ratio.
Screen diagonals are usually given in inches: 1″ = 2.54 cm.
The screen size converter converts inches to centimeters and finds the screen width and height from the aspect ratio.
Formulas
1″ = 2.54 cm; width = d · a : √(a2 + b2); height = d · b : √(a2 + b2)
Here d is the diagonal and a : b is the aspect ratio. The formulas follow from the Pythagorean theorem.
Example. 27″ = 68.58 cm. With 16:9 the width is ≈ 59.77 cm and the height is ≈ 33.62 cm.
