Variables x and y. Examples: x^2 + y^2, sin(x) cos(y), e^(−x^2 − y^2).
This calculator draws a static picture of the surface z = f(x, y) on a given range.
Values are calculated on a grid and each cell is coloured by height. This shows hills, hollows and saddle points.
Example. z = x² + y² is a paraboloid, and z = x² − y² is a saddle.
