Text and Binary
Convert text to binary, decimal and hexadecimal codes and back: ASCII, Unicode, UTF-8 and Windows-1251.
What to find:
Text up to 10,000 characters. 8-bit binary codes can also be entered without spaces.
The text and code converter shows character codes in binary, decimal and hexadecimal form and builds text from codes. A computer stores each character as a number, and the encoding defines which one.
Encodings
| Encoding | Character size | Contains |
|---|---|---|
| ASCII | 7 bits | Latin letters, digits, symbols |
| Windows-1251 | 8 bits | Cyrillic and Latin letters |
| UTF-8 | 8 to 32 bits | all Unicode characters |
| Unicode | code point | all characters |
Example. The letter A in ASCII has code 65, or 01000001 in binary.
