The union, intersection, difference and symmetric difference of sets, and a subset check.
Separate elements with commas or spaces: numbers, letters, words. Empty set: ∅. Repeats are ignored, and letter case matters.
This calculator finds the union, intersection, difference and symmetric difference of two sets and checks whether one is a subset of the other.
| Operation | Meaning |
|---|---|
| A ∪ B | elements of at least one set |
| A ∩ B | elements of both sets |
| A \ B | elements of A that are not in B |
| A △ B | elements of exactly one set |
Example. A = {1, 2, 3, 4}, B = {3, 4, 5}: A ∪ B = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5}, A ∩ B = {3, 4}, A \ B = {1, 2}.
