Audio and Video Size
The size of an audio file I = f · i · k · t, audio duration from file size and the size of uncompressed video.
The audio and video size calculator finds the size of an uncompressed audio file from the sampling rate, bit depth, number of channels and duration, the duration from the file size, and the size of uncompressed video.
Audio
I = f · i · k · t
f is the sampling rate (samples per second, Hz), i the bit depth (bits per sample), k the number of channels (mono 1, stereo 2), t the time in seconds. CD quality is 44.1 kHz, 16 bits, stereo.
Video
I = w · h · i · v · t
w × h is the frame size, i the color depth, v the frames per second. Real video is compressed by codecs tens or hundreds of times.
Example. One minute of 44.1 kHz, 16-bit stereo audio: I = 44,100 · 16 · 2 · 60 = 84,672,000 bits ≈ 10.1 MB.
